We love in a world where food is in abundance but the access to food is limited to the wealthy and privileged. Around 1 in 10 people in the world suffer from hunger and food insecurity. For my Art Direction class, I created a campaign in partnership with Hashtag Lunchbag, an organization centered around combatting food insecurity through act of love. My task was to create awareness of food insecurity in the U.S. and increase donations on the Hashtag Lunchbag platform.
1 in 9 Americans suffer from food insecurity. Food insecurity is when an individual or household cannot provide enough food to live a healthy life. In addition, children suffer more than any other age group in the United States. More than 11 million children in the country lack access to food. Hashtag Lunchbag wants to combat that. Below is an user interface that was made to incentivize donations to combat hunger and food insecurity.
The person next to us can suffer from food insecurity and we would not even know it. Below is a guerrilla campaign made to show the everyday person what food insecurity looks like. The grey bags represent people who suffer from food insecurity. The red bags represent people who have access to food. The kiosk is a center where people can read up on the Hashtag Lunchbag mission and donate to the cause.
